Sensory jobs
ECL’s dedicated sensory impairment service supports people who have a sight loss, hearing loss or combined sight and hearing loss, to maintain independence and dignity in every aspect of daily life.
Join our team of sensory specialists in delivering a range of services across Essex and help us to develop a society where people with sensory impairments have the same access to services and businesses as everyone else.
We help people to maintain their independence and quality of life, assisting with daily activities, accessing facilities, attending appointments, and developing individually tailored programmes.
Our sensory roles include:
Communicator Guide
Our Communicator Guides work 1-1 with customers across Essex, supporting them in their community with activities including shopping, finance, or hospital appointments.
You don’t need to know British Sign Language (BSL) for this role, but it would be beneficial as we do have customers that would benefit from a guide with this skill.
Rehabilitation Worker
Our Rehabilitation Workers are specialists in their field. They are qualified to provide assessment and rehabilitative training to our customers with the aim to advance or maintain their independence in all aspects of life.
