The Role of the Sensory Champion
The Sensory Champion role has been developed by ECL Sensory Service in response to identified need from Health & Social Care providers.
The role definition and training content and requirements have been co-produced through engagement with providers and sensory impaired people who use your services.
Sensory Champions are members of staff who have completed the Sensory Champion training course and share their learning across their service to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
The aims of the Sensory Champion project are to:
• better support people who have sight and hearing impairments.
• increase identification, referrals and signposting to sensory services.
• improve access to health and social cares services.
The session will be held online MS Teams and the link will be sent out to you 48 hours before.
Should you have any accessibility needs please email sensorychampions@essexcares.org prior to the course so we can ensure you are able to access the course content.
