Located just behind Maldon Town Centre, ECL Maldon Older People Day Centre enjoys excellent links to shops, cafes, and local amenities. Within a 2-minute walk, you'll find the local library and adult community learning college, while the picturesque Maldon promenade and park are just a 10-minute stroll away. We often take a wander to the park, sitting down to enjoy a tea or coffee when the weather permits. We’re lucky enough to benefit from the local dementia-friendly cinema in Burnham, which we make good use of.

Getting to our centre is easy, with convenient access to local bus routes and wheelchair-friendly facilities available onsite. We're committed to ensuring that everyone can access our services comfortably and safely. Our centre is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a bathroom hoist, fully accessible bathroom, and a range of mobility aids including wheelchairs and a rotunda.

At ECL Maldon Older People Day Centre, we understand the importance of providing tailored support to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Here's how we ensure that our facilities cater to a wide range of requirements:

  • Comprehensive staff training: Our dedicated staff receive extensive training in various health conditions, including dementia, diabetes, dysphagia, mental health awareness, and more. This enables us to provide high-quality care and support tailored to individual needs.
  • Health support services: We offer support with modified diets and tube feeding where required and assessed. Additionally, our team provides 4:1 support as standard, with the option for 1:1 support if assessed and funding is in place.
  • Technological resources: To enhance engagement and accessibility, we provide access to a laptop, tablet, and Alexa device for customer use, ensuring connectivity and convenience.
  • Outdoor spaces: Our large garden provides a serene outdoor setting for gardening activities, picnics, and events, offering opportunities for relaxation and socialization.
  • Communication aids: We understand the importance of effective communication, which is why we provide communication aids such as pictorial references, talking mats, and electronic writing pads, facilitating interaction and expression.
  • Sensory support: Through our partnership with the ECL Sensory Service, we offer access to a range of sensory equipment for customers who require it, promoting sensory stimulation and wellbeing.
  • Quiet room: For moments of reflection and relaxation, we have a quiet room onsite, where customers can engage in reminiscing and find peace when needed.
