A growing success for our customers in Loughton
On Wednesday 17 July, a group of customers from our ECL Loughton Day Centre attended the third anniversary celebration of the GROW Community Garden.
Our customers have been volunteering every Wednesday, alongside local residents and Oakview School, as part of an inclusive community food-growing initiative. Each week, the group takes part in a variety of gardening activities in order to produce a wide range of fruit and vegetables, including courgettes, potatoes and raspberries.
They were delighted to be invited to attend the third year anniversary celebration event, alongside the other volunteers and local community. A special guest at the event was the Mayor of Loughton, Cllr Stella Murphy, who presented each of our customers with a certificate to recognise their hard work and dedication.
A big ‘well done’ to everyone involved.
