Art at the Heart of our Wellbeing - a gallery by Mid Essex Day Opportunities
ECL’s Mid Essex Day Opportunities joined forces with Sir John Payne school on Friday 18 October to host a fantastic Art Gallery at Columbus College in Chelmsford.
The event, which was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Chelmsford, showcased a collection of artwork and sculptures, created by adults with learning disabilities and older people that attend ECL services. The theme of the gallery was ‘The Environment’ and many of the pieces displayed were sculpted from repurposed plastic waste and recyclable materials. Some of the highlights from the display included giant turtle and dolphin, as well a swan made from tyres.
We are so proud of the incredible range of artwork our customers have created. I know they all worked so hard to prepare and plan the event, so it’s great to see so many members of the public enjoying the gallery and purchasing pieces to take home.
