ECL announced as finalist for national awards
ECL has been announced as a finalist in two categories at the national LaingBuisson Awards, which celebrate success in the health and social care industry.
The 2021 Awards received a record number of entries, indicative of the expertise and innovation in social care nationally.
ECL are finalists in the ‘Innovation in Care’ category for the development of the ‘Moment App’, a unique tool in the Adult Social Care sector which has digitised the way customers progress and outcomes are recorded. The Moment App was built in partnership with app developers Theodo and is used daily by the ECL team, as well as customers and their families who can independently track and celebrate their own goals.
The organisation is also a finalist in the ‘Public Private Partnership’ category for ECL’s collaborative work with Essex County Council and NHS partners on the ‘Step 2 Home’ project. Step 2 Home was a short-term residential reablement service, which was quickly set up to alleviate pressure on Essex hospitals in direct response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The service was designed, commissioned, and mobilised at former care home Howe Green in Essex. The service succeeded in reducing hospital pressure and readmissions while preventing Covid-19 outbreak in the facility.
I am delighted for our team and thrilled that ECL has been recognised on a national level. These awards are testament to the whole team’s hard work and commitment to deliver outstanding care for adults across the region. Although the Covid-19 pandemic has presented new challenges, it is fantastic to be recognised for our effective partnership work and innovative approach in the care sector over the past year.
ECL offer care and support to older people, adults with learning disabilities and people with a sensory impairment to live safely and independently in their homes and local communities across South East England.
The LaingBuisson Awards have been running annually since 2016, and this year’s category winners will be announced at a ceremony on 18th November.
