ECL Inclusive Employment Consultant finalist in prestigious employment awards
We are pleased to announce that Inclusive Employment Consultant Caroline Giess is a finalist in the 2023 Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) Employability Awards.
A finalist in the Frontline Advisor of the Year category, Caroline is a key member of the ECL Mid Essex Inclusive Employment team.
Caroline has been with ECL for 10 years and was an Inclusive Employment champion long before ECL offered it as a service. Her passion for helping people achieve their goals shines through in everything she does.
To date, she has supported 48 customers into paid employment. Some are now successfully in their second or third jobs and are sustaining their employment for longer than the national average of six months.
Caroline deserves to be a finalist in this category, she is an incredible asset to the team and really makes a difference to everyone she is around. Nothing is ever too much trouble, she goes out of her way for everyone, and everything she does is just phenomenal. We’d be lost without her support and encouragement. She’s always looking at the bigger picture. She helps customers and their parents or carers navigate any issues or concerns about the process, from travel arrangements to navigating the tricky world of benefits. She gives advice on everything, and if she doesn’t know something she’ll find out in a timely manner. She has a famous saying which has been adopted by the rest of the team, ‘it’s fine, we’ll get there,’ and we always do. The whole team is rooting for her win!
Now in their eleventh year, the ERSA Employability Awards highlight the dedication, creativity, and determination of everyone Working for Better Work. Drawn across 12 categories, the finalists have been chosen by an independent panel of experts from more than 300 entries. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 28th of November.
Everyone nominated for an ERSA award is a winner in my eyes. The categories explore everything that’s fabulous about our sector; it’s dedicated people, proactive partnerships, and pioneering projects – hence our judges have struggled to keep some of the listings short!
Against a backdrop of unprecedented long-term sickness, stubbornly high vacancies, and wider political turbulence, the employability sector continues to deliver. Supporting people, many among the most disadvantaged in the country, into worthwhile employment is driving economic and social change and that definitely deserves celebrating. Well done to everyone nominated.
